In 1988 Edith F. Stormont and Betty D. Aul, on behalf of the National Society Daughters of Colonial Wars in the State of Florida, canvassed the The Archives of Maryland for references to colonial military service. The end result was this publication, an index to Maryland’s colonial soldiers named in the Archives. Arranged alphabetically by the soldiers’ surnames, each entry gives volume and page number for the first reference to a colonial soldier found in 70-volume Archives. The final third of the book contains a number of historical factoids about colonial Maryland, including the formation of its counties, and a member/ancestor roster for the Florida Chapter of the Society Daughters of Colonial War in Florida.
